Throughout history, many did not acknowledge this Life. Many
did not realize the significance of this Life. But the promise of this Life, still
reached out with hope to all.
Many others awaited the coming of this Life. They looked for
it. They longed for it. They didn’t completely understand it, but they waited
anyway – longing, hoping for its coming.
Then, the glorious news was given. The Life was about to
come into the world at last! Hope rose anew in the hearts of those who were
watching…waiting.
Hope. Blessed, glorious Hope.
On this side of history, we too have hope. Not merely hope
for something that has not yet come, but hope that the power of that Life that
burst into human history in Bethlehem so long ago is still at work in our world
today.
clip Hope for the lonely.Hope for the grieving.Hope for broken families.Hope for broken lives.Hope for hearts held captive by sin and darkness.Hope for those whose hearts long for freedom.
Hope. Hope. Hope.
The hope we have on this side of history is focused on the
Life that came into the world in a humble stable in a tiny town. A cross on a hill
and an empty tomb saw that hope come into full reality.
Life…and Hope. Hope…and Life.
All of history, past, present, and future, derives its
ultimate hope from that one, glorious Life.
That hope is there for each of us…freely available to all
who reach out for Him.
May we all, this Advent season, reach out for the Life than brings us hope.
