Rachel and I intended to stay awake until midnight. I was going to read aloud to her until then. Unfortunately, my words were turning to mush as I got more and more sleepy, and I had to give up. I set my alarm for 11:55 PM, handed her my Kindle Fire, and she listened to Dr. Seuss audio books.
When the alarm went off, I woke her up so she could blow her horn and greet the new year. She was so sleepy that she only managed a half-hearted "toot-toot" out the back door, and then made a bee-line for bed. I'm headed there soon.
But before I go, I just wanted to wish you all a 2013 filled with God's best for you. Whether things sail along smoothly or, more likely, come as a mixed gag of ups and downs, our Heavenly Father will never leave us alone. That...in and of itself...is a blessing. He has started something good in us. We can be sure that whatever happens in 2013, He will continue His good work.
I have other New Years' thoughts in mind, but I will have to write them up tomorrow when I am more alert. For now...Happy New Year...and good night.
He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.Philippians 1:6
